However, let’s see first what causes usually cause this problem:

Do you know what are the benefits of parsley to help you reduce inflammation of the eyelids? Let’s discover them together.

1. Vitamin C

  • Parsley has up to 20% more vitamin C than lemon. Vitamin C is an essential component for the beauty of the skin.
  • Vitamin C can help reduce inflammation and stimulate collagen synthesis.
  • We can apply it directly to the skin for greater effectiveness. In addition, it is popularly recommended to apply these remedies based on vitamin C at night, since if it comes into contact with the sun it is considered that it can oxidize and disappear very quickly.
  • Vitamin C can be an exceptional ally to take care of our beauty because it brings luminosity and firmness.

2. Vitamin K

  • This vitamin can help to strengthen the capillary walls and small veins, since it promotes the microcirculation of these critical areas around the eyes.
  • The vitamin K present in parsley favors the rapid healing of bruises.
  • This vitamin helps us to clot the blood in humans.

3. Chlorophyll

  • Parsley is very rich in chlorophyll, since it is the element that gives it its green color. It is a component that can be beneficial for the health of our skin and tissues, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties.
  • It can also help us to regenerate the delicate areas around the eyes, such as the eyelids, thanks to its antioxidant properties.

How to make the remedy with parsley

Ingredients

  • 3 sprigs of parsley
  • ½ cup of water (125 ml)

Utensils

  • 2 cotton pads
  • 1 cup

Preparation

  • It’s really easy to prepare. To do this, the first thing we will do is heat this half a cup of water a little to infuse the sprigs of parsley. Allow them to cook for about 10 minutes. Afterwards, we will let it rest for another 15 so that the mixture drops in temperature.
  • Once it is warm, we will proceed to moisten the cotton pads with this remedy with parsley.
  • Apply the remedy with parsley in your eyes, both in the part of the dark circles and in the part of the eyelids. It is common that when we have swollen eyelids there is also a slight accumulation of fluids under the eyes. Therefore we will apply the cotton pads in these areas for about 15 minutes.
    • It is not about the liquid reaching the eye itself. What we want to treat are the surrounding tissues: eyelids and dark circles. So, remember to close your eyes and rest for a few moments with those cotton pads on them.
    • After that time, rinse with fresh water. The cold-heat treatment is popularly considered beneficial to reduce inflammation and stimulate circulation, although for now there is still not enough scientific evidence to prove it. In any case, its use is not, in principle, negative for health.

Hopefully you will try this remedy at home with good results. However, remember that this treatment can help you if you have swollen eyes from minor causes, but if you have more serious problems, such as an infection, you should see a doctor immediately.

This remedy can help to alleviate some discomfort that you may feel in case of infection, but it will not cure you. For this you need to receive specialized medical treatment. Once you are receiving the proper treatment, you can use this parsley remedy to help clean and relieve puffiness in your eyes.
