Different Recipes: Watermelon, Cheese And Mint Salad

There are many recipes that combine ingredients that, in the first instance, we would not think of mixing. The result? Delicious and highly nutritious dishes. An example of this is the watermelon, cheese and mint salad that we will discuss below.

The freshness of the watermelon together with that of a good white cheese, is extremely pleasant. And the touch of mint only improves the dish. In some cases, ingredients such as cucumber, red onion, shrimp, black olives, and tomatoes are added.

You could say that the watermelon would come to replace the tomato in the typical green salad. Rich in water, with a certain sweet taste and smooth texture, it adapts very well to the rest of the ingredients.

  • The first thing we will do is wash all the ingredients well, especially all our green leafy vegetables, as well as the medicinal herbs: basil and mint. Make sure the spinach is tender, with rather small leaves. They are tastier and easier to digest.
  • Now cut the watermelon into cubes, as you see in the images. It is very attractive. Do the same with the cheese.
  • Next step? Cut the tender leeks into thin slices, looking for the final aesthetic of the dish.
  • Now chop the basil and mint, it will add more flavor to the dish in this way and it is easier to consume.
  • Cut the black olives into small pieces. They bring a very special color to the salad.
  • Add the whole lamb’s lettuce.
  • If you want your salad to have a little spicy touch, you have the possibility of adding, for example, a jalapeƱo or a chilli. It is enough with half of one cut into thin slices, the flavor it can add is very original. But it all depends on your tastes.
  • Put all the ingredients in an attractive bowl or on a plate that you like. All you have to do is drop all the vegetables first, then add the watermelon and cheese. Then the mint and chopped basil, along with the black olives and leeks.
  • Lastly, add the pine nuts. If you don’t want to put pine nuts, you can include walnuts, the flavor is also very original. Like nutritious.
  • It is time to add the dressing. You can use the juice of half a lemon, or even a mustard vinaigrette. We, for our part, recommend balsamic vinegar of Modena. The taste is sensational and its touch, a delight for the senses.
